OMR 1,000 a month on Meta ads in Oman reaches about 500,000 people and brings a local service business roughly 200 enquiries. The same OMR 1,000 on Google Search buys about 2,900 clicks and roughly 230 enquiries, warmer ones, because the person was already searching. On SEO it buys almost nothing in month one and about 5,000 organic visits a month by month twelve. Those are the mid estimates behind the ad budget calculator; this guide explains where they come from, what they look like for other industries, and how to split a budget so the paid and organic halves do different jobs.

The short answer: what OMR 1,000 a month buys, channel by channel

These figures are for a local service business in Oman (a clinic, salon, repair company or similar) that counts a WhatsApp message, call or booking as a result. The mid is the plan; the range is the honest answer.

Google Business Profile1,200 profile actions a month by month 12300 a month by month 12 (120 to 700)OMR 3.30 at maturity

Two things stand out. Display and in-app ads reach four times as many people as Meta for the same money and bring a third of the enquiries, which is why they belong to launches and retargeting rather than to lead generation. And the Google Business Profile, which in practice costs OMR 100 a month to manage rather than OMR 1,000, is the highest return per rial on the table for any business with a door customers can walk through: at OMR 100 a month it produces about 120 profile actions and 30 enquiries a month by month six.

How the numbers are calculated

Every paid channel is the same funnel. The budget buys impressions or clicks at the market rate, a share of those click, and a share of the clicks convert on the landing page.

Budget ÷ cost → impressions or clicks × click rate × conversion rate = enquiries or orders

The Oman benchmarks behind the table above, as of October 2026:

ChannelBought byCost (OMR)Click rateEnquiry rateOrder rate
Meta1,000 impressions2.00 (1.50 to 2.80)1.0%4.0%1.5%
Google Searchclick0.35 (0.25 to 0.50)4.0%8.0%2.5%
Snapchat and TikTok1,000 impressions1.50 (1.10 to 2.20)0.7%3.0%1.0%
Display and in-app1,000 impressions0.50 (0.35 to 0.80)0.35%1.0%0.4%
LinkedInclick2.50 (1.80 to 3.50)0.5%4.0%1.5%

Industry changes two of those numbers. Competition sets the cost: real estate clicks cost about 1.6 times the service average in Oman, clinics 1.3 times, B2B 1.4 times, food and cafés 0.8 times. Consideration time sets the conversion rate: a property enquiry converts at about 60% of the service rate, a B2B enquiry at 70%, a restaurant at 120%. The UAE costs about 1.6 times Oman for the same audience, Saudi Arabia 1.3 times, India about a third.

Organic channels do not follow a funnel. A monthly SEO or Business Profile investment buys a mature level of visits or profile actions that takes most of a year to reach: SEO is at about 15% of its mature output by month three, 45% by month six and 100% by month twelve. The Business Profile is faster, at 50% by month three and 85% by month six, which is why it is the first organic thing a local business should fund.

Paid is rent, organic is ownership

Most marketing plans in Oman fail by treating the two halves of the budget as if they behaved the same way.

Paid campaigns start producing within days and scale with the budget, which is why a new business leans on them. Once a campaign is out of its learning phase the funnel holds month after month, so results are predictable within the range above. But nothing accumulates: the day the budget stops, the enquiries stop, and the cost per result creeps up as the easy audience is used up, which is why creative has to be refreshed every few weeks.

Organic channels are near zero in the first quarter and deliver most of their return between month six and month twelve. They compound: a page that ranks keeps bringing enquiries at no extra cost, and the cost per enquiry falls every quarter. They are less predictable up front, because competitors and Google's changes are outside your control. The exception is the Google Business Profile, which starts working within weeks for a business with a physical location. See SEO in Oman for how the map pack works here.

The practical rule: a business that is just starting needs about 70% of its budget in paid for the first six months, moving toward 50/50 by the end of the first year as organic takes over.

Recommended split by industry

Starting points for a business at the growing stage, before the size of the budget prunes anything that would be underfunded. The calculator applies these to your own figure and drops any channel that would get less than it needs to function (about OMR 100 a month for a paid channel, OMR 50 for the Business Profile).

For OMR 1,000 a month in local services at the starting stage, that becomes Google Search OMR 410, Meta OMR 290, SEO OMR 170 and the Business Profile OMR 130. Month one brings about 100 enquiries, almost all from paid; by month twelve it is about 220 a month, with organic doing a third of the work, and the first year totals roughly 2,200 enquiries (a range of about 1,000 to 4,700).

What about AI search?

ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews now answer a share of the questions that used to be Google searches, and they cite pages that are specific, dated, structured and already ranking. There is no reliable benchmark yet for what a rial invested in AI visibility returns, so budget it as a slice of the SEO retainer where expertise matters (clinics, B2B, education, property) and measure it by citation tracking rather than clicks. The work overlaps almost entirely with good SEO: one page per question, a real answer in the first paragraph, prices and dates in the text, and schema markup. This site is built that way, which is how the price guides on it get quoted.

Management fees sit beside the media budget, not inside it

The media budget is paid to the platforms at cost and stays in your own ad accounts. Management is a separate monthly fee per channel from the price list: Google Ads from OMR 130 a month, Meta from OMR 120, TikTok and Snapchat from OMR 120, LinkedIn from OMR 160, local SEO with the Business Profile OMR 100, and an SEO retainer from OMR 125. For the OMR 1,000 split above that is OMR 475 a month in management, which the cost estimator itemises. The usual Omani experience of an agency is a report full of impressions and a phone that does not ring more than it did before; the point of every number in this guide is to agree, before a rial is spent, what cost per enquiry counts as working.

Before the first rial is spent

  1. One landing page per offer, loading in under three seconds on a phone, with WhatsApp as the primary action.
  2. Conversion tracking on WhatsApp taps, calls and forms, or the platforms optimise for the wrong thing.
  3. Three to five creatives per channel in the first fortnight; the platform picks the winner, you do not.
  4. Arabic and English ad sets kept separate so each is judged on its own numbers. Arabic searches in Oman are less competitive and often cheaper.
  5. A weekly check of cost per enquiry against the range in the tables above; a channel outside it for four weeks is paused.

Run your own budget through the ad budget calculator, in OMR, with your own industry and goal. If you already run ads, switch on the advanced mode and type your account's cost per click, click rate and conversion rate, and the plan recalculates from those instead of the benchmarks. The digital marketing in Oman page sets out how campaigns are run and reported.
