A business website in Oman costs between OMR 90 and OMR 650 in 2026 for most companies, and OMR 495 upwards for an online store. The exact figure depends on four things: how many pages, whether you need Arabic, what the site has to do (enquiries, bookings, sales), and who builds it. Below are the prices I publish and use in every quote, followed by what actually moves them.

The short answer, in OMR

These are the benchmark prices from my price list, excluding 5% VAT. The cost estimator uses the same numbers to build an itemised quote.

For comparison, other published guides for Oman put a basic site at OMR 100 to 400 and a business site at OMR 500 to 1,500 from an agency. My business-website figure sits below that range because the scope is fixed and written down before work starts, and because design, build and content are done by the same small team rather than passed between departments.

What changes the price

Pages and content. Each extra designed page adds about OMR 25. The bigger cost is usually content: if nobody in the company has written the service descriptions, the copywriting has to be done and paid for, at about OMR 15 per page.

Arabic. A real Arabic version is a mirrored right-to-left layout with Arabic typography, not a plugin that flips the English. Budget OMR 190 for the layout plus translation at around OMR 10 per page. For clinics, restaurants, retail and anyone selling to government-linked buyers, it pays for itself quickly.

What the site has to do. A brochure site that sends enquiries to WhatsApp is the cheapest. Bookings, customer portals, member areas and payments each add a system that has to be built, connected and tested. A booking system is OMR 525; a customer portal starts at OMR 1,300.

Payments and delivery, for stores. Connecting an Omani gateway such as Thawani or a bank card gateway is OMR 160. Shipping and delivery-zone integration is OMR 140. Product upload is OMR 3 per product, which matters if you have eight hundred of them.

Who builds it. A freelancer in Oman typically charges OMR 100 to 3,000 depending on complexity; an agency OMR 500 to 10,000 or more. Offshore builds look cheaper until you count the revisions, the time-zone lag and the Arabic that was never done properly. The question to ask is not "what is your price" but "what exactly is included at that price, in writing".

The costs people forget

  • Domain. A .com is a few rials a year; a .om or .com.om a little more, registered through an accredited Omani registrar.
  • Hosting. OMR 15 a month managed, including CDN, SSL and uptime monitoring. Free hosting exists and is slow in Oman.
  • Maintenance. Software needs patching. A care plan at OMR 45 a month covers updates, backups, security and small content changes. Without one, the bill arrives as a hacked site or a broken checkout.
  • Marketing. A website nobody finds is a brochure. Local SEO from OMR 100 a month or a small Google Ads budget is what turns the site into enquiries. See SEO in Oman.

What to ask before you sign

  1. Is the scope itemised, page by page and feature by feature, with a price against each line?
  2. Will the site pass Google's mobile speed tests on a mid-range phone on 4G? Ask to see a recent site they built, tested on your own phone.
  3. Who owns the domain, the hosting account and the code? The answer must be you.
  4. Is Arabic a real right-to-left build or an automatic translation plugin?
  5. What happens after launch: who updates it, what does that cost, and how fast do they respond?
